Recently, Becker Enterprises (Becker), a landscape designer and installer located in Chesapeake, VA, teamed up with John Deere Landscapes, a local Rinox Distributor, to help transform a private residence’s backyard into the ultimate outdoor living space for themselves, as well as their teenage children to entertain family and friends.
John Deere Landscapes provided Becker with multiple Rinox products including: Palazzo Modulo 6x6 and 6x9, two Palazzo Modulo Circle Kits, RIO 135 Wall, and RIO 10" Coping all in Panama Beige coloring. The patio, accompanied by adjoining walkways, had completed dimensions of 1,400 square feet, while the fire pit and sitting walls’ finished dimensions were 200 square feet.
When designing this outdoor entertainment area, Becker ran into a few unique challenges. This particular piece of property had unusual positioning, being surrounded on three sides by water, as well as having a wooded and overgrown lot, not conducive to the requested atmosphere.
In creating an innovative solution, Becker’s planning began around the non-existent pool. As the pool was installed near the house, it became apparent that there was plenty of room for a paver patio and pool deck with separate dining and lounging areas. The design was enhanced with the addition of a sod yard.
Once these planned areas were completed, the owners were happy but still desired more. The land proved larger than expected and now left them feeling separated from the water; contrary to their original reason for purchasing this home. Becker easily and creatively solved this issue by building a circular raised patio at the very corner of the property, enveloped by the surrounding inlet, accompanied by a stone fire pit and Rinox Rio sitting walls.
The overall design, accompanied by Rinox’s colorful pavers, gave this homeowner the outdoor living space they ultimately desired, awash in tidal views.
